Lumiere Statuette | Technical Emmy® |
The Lumiere Statuette was awarded by the Advanced Imaging Society for the program's Technical Innovation, while the Emmy was from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for fundamentally changing the way people are shooting television, more specifically FrameForge's proven track record of saving time and money on production through virtual testing. In fact, this was one of the key criteria for being considered for this honor.
Thanks to the overwhelming number of users who came forward with their stories of how FrameForge had done exactly that for their own productions, we won that coveted Emmy®.
We continue to improve FrameForge so you'll continue to save time and money on your productions. Thanks to the working directors, cinematographers, and VFX supervisors who have permitted us to share how they use FrameForge to pursue their passion.
"I used to hire storyboard artists. Not anymore. FrameForge is much more practical and realistic, telling me precisely what I can and cannot shoot. It inspires me to come up with more effective lensing and staging all the time, while giving me much clearer ideas on what sets to build or locations to look for."
— Mike van Diem, Academy® Award winning director, Best Foreign Language Film, Character (Karakter)Text
“We are in the business of delivering emotions through a visual medium. FrameForge lets you focus on that... It gives me the tools to create that world I need in a speedy and comprehensive way with an easy-to-use and friendly interface. I just can’t imagine doing my job without it.”
— Zack Linder, Director, 2012: Shift-Evolve-Survive
“By using FrameForge to previs my entire film, we cut the production costs by about 30% ...!”
— Sankalp Reddy, Director, The Blue Fish,Krystal 3C Studio, India
“FrameForge is great for making what used to be post-production editing changes but doing them during the pre-production phase. What a time and money-saver!”
— Fred B. Smith, Writer-Director & Co-Producer, Color of Truth, Vital Forces Productions (NYC) Films
“What was great was being able to correctly determine the camera angles in preproduction so that we knew exactly what we’d be seeing in the frame."
— Robert Stadd, VFX Supervisor, The Hangover, Part III
"[FrameForge] is the perfect tool for planning scenes with large number of speaking characters — of which there are a lot — and especially to experiment with blocking and camera placement."
— Dave Evans, Emmy® Nominated Director, Downton Abbey
“What used to take the most time on set was trying to set up that impossible shot which I really, really wanted... but which didn’t work. No more. It should go without saying that using FrameForge speeds the whole process up because that no longer happens. When you walk on set with boards done in FrameForge, you not only know what you want, but also you know what you don’t want.”
— Johannes Roberts, Award-Winning Writer/Director, Forest of the Damned
"We even use [FrameForge] real-time in meetings, and the stunt guys make suggestions, and we move the camera around to spitball new ideas. FrameForge is one of those tools that you start using and you think to yourself, how the hell did I ever live without it?”
— Jacques Haitkin, Cinematographer, Director of Photography - Herbie: Fully Loaded
“My plane was late getting me to the set... but thanks to my FrameForge storyboards, the crew had it all set up perfectly when I arrived. And we wrapped on time.”
—Bill Dill, ASC Cinematographer, Jason Goes to Hell
“FrameForge always gives me the freedom to investigate all those interesting and unexplored side roads without getting lost.”
— Bob Swaim, César® Award Winning Director, La Balance
“FrameForge has actually made storyboarding useful, but what I didn't expect was how much it helps with planning blocking… the time saved on set was unbelievable."
— Rich Camp, Director, Lumberjacking
“FrameForge allows me to explore compositions and movement far beyond what is already in my mind when I start.”
— Hal Masonberg, Writer/Director, The Plague
“We use FrameForge on THUIS, Belgium’s most successful daily soap. With 200 episodes per year… we cannot afford to lose time! FrameForge’s storyboard for the location is a shortcut for everybody on set. We know what we will see (and what we won’t see), helping us to work cheaper, faster and still looking better. The accuracy of FrameForge’s output is astounding even for a very fast production…and I find it is often a time-saving necessity.”
— Georges terryn, Director, THUIS, Belgium
“The first time I used FrameForge for an entire project, my team won prestigious Telly Awards for both Cinematography and Visual Effects. Had it not been for the time spent in FrameForge, and for the resulting storyboards, I'm not certain we would have received those awards. My finest film work came, in part, from the investment I made in your application….When I prep in FrameForge, I can use my precious time on set to focus on important nuances such as timing & performance.”
— Jason Denzel, Award-Winning Filmmaker, The Towers of MidnightBook Trailer
“With a 28-day shoot that covered 22 locations, a big part of [our] planning involved using FrameForge to storyboard the whole film. Beyond creating the sets and using them to arrange for camera placement, we created animated videos of all major scenes which truly allowed us to “see” the movie before we shot it. And, on set, we always had our binder with still shots and camera information generated by FrameForge. All this hard work paid off, as we made every single shooting day we had planned… and the film won a coveted Special Jury Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.”
— Linda Nelson, Award-Winning Producer/CEO, Delivered,Nelson Madison Films/Indie Rights USA
“Using FrameForge is like having 20/20 hindsight, and using it was essential for my film's success. My cinematographer said our shooting schedule was insane. But thanks to FrameForge we wrapped early every day but one. One of the best decisions I made on Wallenda was using FrameForge Previz Studio at the start of my project, as it saved me crucial time and money and was essential for the project’s success.”
— W. Scheich, Award-Winning Writer/Director, Wallenda
